Kriste came to visit over the past week and she brought along some frozen boudin from Don's Specialty Meats in Lafayette, Louisiana. I cooked fried chicken (along with some fried pickles for George who joined us for dinner), made chicken and sausage rice and gravy with smothered potatoes and Romano beans, and we took a weekend trip to South Lake Tahoe, where we had boudin-egg scrambles with bacon in breakfast sandwiches... twice. PORK ON PORK. It is amazing how quickly a few people can go through a 30 pack of Miller High Life and a bottle of Maker's. Ahh, old friends, slurring, giggling, sunburn and weekend getaways!
